Who Need This?

Mentrix Method focuses on designing and delivering technology systems. Because, at the moment, software systems generate, or at least strongly influence, social systems. Paradoxically, the only way to generate those software systems is to redesign the social systems that built the current systems. It’s all about feedback loops — and changing both the questions we care about and the answers we value.

Specifically, the Mentrix Method supports individuals, teams and organizations who rely on and deliver software systems. Nowadays, this is most individuals and organizations. But the closer you are to actually putting software into production, or influencing the descision making process that shape what in production, the more benefit you’ll get from this information.

We are experimenting with approaches to software systems architecture and you’ll find some handy how-to guides here. We also have deep experience in “digital transformation” and “modernization” — we know that technology can not fix social system problems.

Knowledge systems, created by knowledge workers, depends on architecting knowledge flow in organizations. On learning and growing and communicating across points of view. This is what builds software, for better or worse, everything in production is what we thought about, talked about and decided. Without better thinking, communication and decision making patterns … we’ll end up right where we started, having spent a lot of money on fancy tech company products.

If a factory is torn down but the rationality which produced it is left standing, then that rationality will simply produce another factory. — Robert Pirsig

  • If you need help creating an intertwingled system in a factory-building world, You Need This.
  • If you need epistemological habits rather than faster delivery times, You Need This.
  • If you want to design an information system, rather than adding more noise by randomly plugging in AI, You Need This.
  • If you want freedom — real, interoperable, extensible systems freedom — You Need This. .
